About the Role

• We are working on a proprietary sensing system that extracts meaningful signals from video in real-world, uncontrolled environments.
• The core technical challenges span the full pipeline: detecting and isolating regions of interest from noisy scenes, tracking subtle spatial patterns over time, filtering signals from noise using statistical and spectral methods, and recovering weak periodic signals buried in high-dimensional data.

Responsibilities

• Region of interest detection and segmentation under real-world conditions
• Temporal feature tracking and drift correction
• High-dimensional feature filtering and selection using statistical and graph-theoretic methods
• Weak periodic signal recovery from noisy, correlated feature sets
• Frequency-domain analysis and estimation under short-signal and low-SNR conditions
• Systematic diagnosis and improvement of pipeline failure modes on real data

Requirements

• PhD in Signal Processing, Applied Mathematics, Computer Vision, Physics, or similar
• Deep understanding of time-series signal processing — filtering, spectral estimation, noise modeling
• Strong linear algebra and statistical estimation fundamentals
• Experience with optical flow or similar spatiotemporal tracking methods
• Experience with Object Detection Models
• Comfort with graph algorithms and combinatorial reasoning
• Publication record in at least one relevant field
• Strong Python: NumPy, OpenCV, PyTorch
• Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred

• Experience writing production-quality, efficient Python
• Comfort with algorithmic complexity and performance optimization
• Experience writing CUDA kernels or GPU-accelerated code
