Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Bioinformatician specializing in Machine Learning, based in Central \& Western District with opportunities to work from home. The Bioinformatician will develop and apply machine learning models to analyze equine gut microbiome data, identify novel biomarkers and patterns, and contribute to the design of precision probiotics. Responsibilities include processing DNA sequencing data, performing statistical and data analyses, supporting research initiatives, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to drive advancements in equine health.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in DNA Sequencing and Sequencing methodologies
• Proven experience in Data Analysis and proficiency in using bioinformatics tools
• Knowledge of Statistics and application of statistical methods in data interpretation
• Research experience in bioinformatics or related fields
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment
• Master’s degree or higher in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field
• Familiarity with microbiome research, probiotics, or equine biology is a plus
