Job Description

Job Description:

The Technical Project Manager is a senior onshore client-facing role responsible for end-to-end delivery governance across EXL's analytics engagement at a major enterprise retail client. This person serves as the primary operational interface between client stakeholders and the offshore delivery team, owns workstream health and accountability, and drives the analytical approach from requirements through insight delivery. This role requires equal fluency in client relationship management, data and BI delivery, and structured project governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end delivery across multiple analytics workstreams from requirements gathering through stakeholder sign-off
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for mid-level client stakeholders (Director/Senior Manager level) across pods
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate vague business needs into structured requirements, acceptance criteria, and delivery scope
  • Maintain project plans, milestones, JIRA/ADO boards, and status reporting; escalate blockers proactively
  • Run structured sprint ceremonies, stand-ups, and delivery reviews with both onshore and offshore teams
  • Maintain quality gates and ensure offshore output meets client coding standards and delivery acceptance criteria before client exposure
  • Partner with offshore leads to review development, assess report quality, and data model design

Qualifications:

  • 10\+ years of experience in data analytics, BI delivery, or analytics consulting, with at least 3 years in a client-facing project lead or PM role
  • Master's or bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, computer engineering, or a related analytics field; strong academic record preferred
  • Strong hands-on background in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, and SQL, having the ability to review and interrogate technical deliverables
  • Experience with GCP, BigQuery, or equivalent cloud data warehouse environments
  • Experience with Looker (LookML), Metabase, or MicroStrategy preferred
  • Proven track record managing offshore/nearshore delivery teams across time zones
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable navigating ambiguity and competing priorities with senior client stakeholders
  • Familiarity with agile delivery frameworks (JIRA, ADO, sprint ceremonies)
