Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Lead and manage environmental review projects requiring compliance with NEPA, SEQRA, CEQR, and related regulatory requirements.
- Direct the preparation and review of environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, planning studies, land use documents, and permit applications.
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, resources, and financial performance to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, agencies, teaming partners, and stakeholders while identifying opportunities for new and repeat business.
- Support business development activities through proposal preparation, client outreach, marketing initiatives, and identification of new market opportunities.
- Provide technical leadership and strategic guidance on environmental review projects, ensuring compliance, quality, and consistency of deliverables.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff, fostering a collaborative work environment and supporting recruiting, training, and professional growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across CSA Group to support project delivery, client service, and achievement of business objectives.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5\+ years of experience managing environmental review projects and programs.
- AICP and New Jersey Professional Planner certification a plus.
- Demonstrated experience with NEPA, SEQRA, and CEQR compliance.
- Strong project, financial, and client management experience, familiarity with VantagePoint a plus.
- Experience managing environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and technical writing skills.
- Curiosity and interest in continuous learning in AI and comfort experimenting and iterating quickly; uses data to validate ideas and measure impact.
- Commitment to ethical and responsible AI adoption, including privacy-by-design and safe use of tools.
