Thought Leadership Associate – External Communications \| Research \& Strategy

• Location: New York
• Hybrid (3 days in-office)
• Compensation: $130–180k base \+ bonus

A highly intellectual, technology-driven investment firm

is looking to hire an Associate into its Thought Leadership function.

This is a

non-traditional communications role

—closer to a research-driven, analytical environment than a typical PR or content position.

The role sits within a small, high-calibre team responsible for producing markets-, economics-, and technology-focused content that supports fundraising, client engagement, and broader firm positioning.

The role:

• Draft and develop high-quality content (white papers, presentations, speeches, short-form pieces)
• Work closely with investment researchers and technical teams to translate complex ideas (quant, macro, tech) into clear, structured narratives
• Engage directly with senior stakeholders across investment, IR, and strategy functions
• Help shape and execute thought leadership initiatives from idea through to delivery

The profile:

• Outstanding academic background

(top-tier university strongly preferred)

• 2–5 years’ experience in a research-intensive or analytical environment

Backgrounds of interest include:

• think tanks / policy institutions
• government / central banking
• research roles within financial services
• academically rigorous, writing-heavy environments

Demonstrated ability to:

• engage with complex, technical subject matter
• structure ambiguous ideas into clear, compelling narratives
• operate comfortably in high-intellect environments

This is a

high-bar, intellectually demanding environment

. It will suit individuals who are naturally curious, analytically strong, and motivated by ideas—not those seeking a generalist communications role.
