Job Description
The IT Project Manager is a key member of the Information Technology function, accountable for the end-to-end delivery of complex technology projects across the organisation. This includes software, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and business transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy, regulatory obligations, and business outcomes.
In addition, the role may take on specialist technical accountability for networking and connectivity programmes, covering LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, firewalls, cloud connectivity, and campus networks, where required by the portfolio. In these cases, the role operates with enhanced technical depth and delivery authority for network outcomes.
The role reports to the IT Technical Portfolio Manager and operates with a high degree of autonomy, escalating by exception.
The IT Project Manager is accountable for
•Successful delivery of IT projects to agreed scope, time, cost, quality, security, and compliance outcomes
•Effective governance, reporting, and control across the full project lifecycle
•Embedding security, regulatory, and risk requirements into all delivery phases
•Managing delivery risks, dependencies, and third-party suppliers
•Ensuring smooth transition of solutions into live service with minimal disruption to the business
Roles and Responsibilities
End-to-End IT Project Delivery (Primary)
•Plan, execute, and deliver complex IT projects across multiple disciplines including applications, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and business change
•Develop and maintain comprehensive project artefacts, including scope, plans, budgets, resource forecasts, and schedules
•Lead cross-functional delivery teams comprising IT, business stakeholders, security, operations, and external partners
•Ensure effective handover to production and conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned

Technical Project Management
Where assigned to networking initiatives, the IT Project Manager will Act as delivery authority for Infrastructure projects, translating technical designs into executable delivery plans and manage and hold accountable external vendors and systems integrators. As well as ensuring Infrastructure solutions are operationally ready, resilient, secure, and fit for purpose before go-live.

Select and tailor appropriate delivery approaches (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) based on project risk, complexity, and technical domain. Follow the organisation’s Project Delivery Framework, including change enablement, service transition, and operational readiness requirements and maintain clear governance, reporting, RAID management, and escalation throughout the lifecycle.
Cybersecurity, Compliance \& Risk Management
Embed security-by-design and compliance controls into all projects and ensure adherence to data protection, regulatory, and internal risk policies as well as proactively manage delivery, operational, and third-party risks.
Stakeholder, Change \& Communications Management
Maintain transparent and effective communication with senior stakeholders and delivery teams and lead change and communication strategies to support adoption and minimise resistance and ensure user, business, and operational readiness prior to deployment.
Continuous Improvement \& Professional Practice
Leverage data-driven insights, modern tooling, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities to improve delivery outcomes and champion sustainability and continuous improvement in delivery practices as well as staying current with emerging project management and technology trends.

Required Technical Skills
•Proven experience delivering complex IT projects in enterprise environments
•Strong planning, dependency management, and delivery governance capability
•Broad technical understanding with the ability to engage confidently with technical teams

•Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments
Desirable / Specialist (Networking)
•Hands-on experience delivering enterprise-scale networking projects
•Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, firewalls, cloud connectivity, and network security
•Experience with platforms such as Azure, Cisco (including Meraki), Palo Alto, Fortinet, or equivalent
Qualifications not essential but desirable
