As a Lead LLM/NLP Research Engineer, you will guide technical direction while remaining deeply hands-on in building and deploying cutting-edge AI systems.

Expectations:

• Lead the design and development of next-gen ML pipelines to process millions of biomedical documents in real time
• Architect and build cutting-edge NLP models tailored for biomedical and pharmaceutical literature
• Own model quality and compliance by defining robust evaluation frameworks for our AI suite
• Drive MLOps strategy in healthcare, ensuring scalable deployment, monitoring, and automated validation
• Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of engineers and researchers, setting technical direction and best practices

Requirements:

Essential Skills:

• NLP \& ML: Transformers, LLMs, Hugging Face, spaCy, SparkNLP
• Model Training: ML/DL pipelines with PyTorch \& TensorFlow
• MLOps: Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes for scalable deployment
• Leadership: Proven experience leading a small team of engineers or researchers while remaining hands-on
• Quality \& Metrics: Build and measure medical-grade AI performance

Bonus Skills:

• Databases: PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Qdrant
• ML APIs \& LLM integration
• Cloud: AWS/GCP
• DevOps: GitLab CI, Terraform, Ansible
• Experience working in a scale-up environment (e.g., high-growth company moving from early traction to maturity)

Education \& Experience:

• PhD in CS, Applied Math, Bioinformatics, or similar is preferred
• Research background in NLP/ML, ideally within biomedical or healthcare domains
• Prior experience leading a small team or owning a function end-to-end
• Experience in scale-up environments, ideally navigating rapid growth and increasing production complexity
• Python \& ML framework expert
