Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator in a SQL Server environment
  • At least 2 years of experience in

Transact-SQL (T-SQL) administration

  • At least 1 year of experience in

SQL Server database development and performance tuning

  • Experience

administering SQL Server databases across multiple versions (2014-2025)

  • Experience using database monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • Experience working with Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and disk configurations
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and Linux is an advantage

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor database system performance, resource utilization, and query throughput
  • Optimize SQL code to improve database performance and efficiency
  • Monitor and maintain database storage resources
  • Monitor and maintain database maintenance plans, including backups, index rebuilds/defragmentation, and database statistics updates
  • Install, configure, and migrate SQL Server environments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date database documentation
  • Administer and maintain database security and user access controls
  • Perform ad hoc database backups and restores as required
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database connectivity and performance issues
  • Follow change management processes to implement database configuration changes
  • Follow problem management processes to investigate and resolve recurring database issues
  • Proactively monitor and respond to Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) database alerts
  • Provide on-call support to ensure 24/7 database operations and availability
