Job Description
Role Overview
Provides comprehensive speech-language pathology services to patients of all ages, assessing, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs to improve communication and swallowing skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and adjusts age-appropriate treatment plans based on evaluations, physician referrals, and patient/family goals.
- Administers assessments in areas such as verbal and non-verbal communication, cognition, and swallowing, and interprets results to determine patient needs.
- Provides direct therapy, monitors progress, and ensures treatment is tailored to patient needs.
- Communicates effectively with physicians, team members, families, and caregivers to coordinate care.
- Selects assistive devices, educates patients and families, and plans discharge or ongoing care as appropriate.
- Completes documentation, manages schedules, and may supervise students and interns.
- Performs specialized services like video swallow studies and maintains competency assessments.
Qualifications \& Skills
Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology, and BLS certification within 30 days.
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to establish rapport with patients of all ages are essential.
