Job Description
Juno is searching for an AI/ML Engineer to join our client on a full-time basis. As a Senior AI/ML Engineer, you will take AI and ML prototypes—including large language models (LLMs) and predictive models, and transform them into scalable, reliable production systems. You will collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Product teams to design and deploy AI/ML pipelines while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and data security standards. This will be a remote based role primarily with EST hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain end-to-end ML pipelines: data ingestion → feature engineering → model training → deployment → monitoring.
- Productionize ML/AI models into APIs, batch, and streaming workflows.
- Develop LLM-powered workflows (document extraction, classification, summarization, RAG pipelines).
- Implement OCR / Document AI solutions (AWS Textract, DBX OCR, or similar) for structured and unstructured data processing.
- Implement vector databases and embedding-based retrieval systems.
- Apply MLOps best practices: CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, lineage tracking, automated retraining.
- Work with Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows) and AWS (S3, Lambda, Bedrock).
- Optimize model performance, inference latency, throughput, and cost.
- Ensure HIPAA and healthcare compliance, including secure handling of sensitive data.
- Mentor junior engineers and share best practices for production ML systems.
Qualifications
Required:
- 6\+ years in ML engineering, AI engineering, or software engineering
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience deploying ML models into production
- Experience with Databricks / PySpark / distributed data processing
- Familiarity with ML lifecycle tools (MLflow, model registries, monitoring frameworks)
- Experience building APIs for model inference (FastAPI, Flask, etc.)
- Knowledge of LLM workflows, embeddings, and vector search
- Experience with OCR / Document AI pipelines for structured and unstructured data
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Preferred:
- Healthcare data experience (EHR, claims, FHIR, HL7)
- Containerization \& orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with CMS or federal healthcare programs
- Knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, or NIST frameworks
Why Join
- Build AI systems from the ground up in a high-impact healthcare environment
- Work on LLM, RAG, and OCR pipelines in production
- Opportunity to own the production AI architecture
- Collaborate with a mission-driven, cross-functional team focused on better patient outcomes
