, we are looking for a
Technical Product Owner
to take end-to-end technical ownership of business-critical IT products supporting our global manufacturing and supply chain operations.
You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, development teams, and IT operations, ensuring reliable, scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions aligned with Mercedes-Benz standards and strategy.
🔹 Your Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture and design of one or more IT products, platforms, or applications.
- Define and drive technical decisions related to integrations, interfaces, scalability, performance, and security.
- Act as the technical counterpart of the Business Product Owner.
- Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Manage technical backlogs, balancing feature delivery, technical debt, security findings, and operational improvements.
- Coordinate dependencies with multiple teams across the Mercedes-Benz IT ecosystem.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles, cloud standards, and long-term IT strategy.
- Drive lifecycle management, versioning strategies, and technology evolution.
- Provide technical guidance to development teams and ensure implementation quality.
- Ensure operational excellence through monitoring, incident handling, continuous optimization, and root-cause analysis.
- Guarantee compliance with security, data protection, and audit requirements.
🔹 What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Several years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, platform engineering, or similar technical roles.
- Proven experience as:
- Technical Product Owner
- Technical Owner
- Solution Architect
- Senior Engineer
- Strong knowledge of:
- Distributed systems
- API-based and service-oriented architectures
- Cloud platforms
- Containerization technologies
- CI/CD pipelines and automation
- Non-functional requirements such as security, availability, performance, and maintainability
- Experience working within Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Knowledge of IT architectures and enterprise landscapes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
🔹 Additional Requirements
- Strong ability to understand the current landscape, identify target solutions, and align business and technical requirements.
- Professional presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- High flexibility to travel internationally.
- During the initial ramp-up phase (approximately 2–3 months), availability to travel to Germany several days per week is expected.
- Afterwards, a hybrid/remote setup will be possible with occasional international travel.
