Job Description

Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD

A Cloud Infrastructure Engineer opportunity has arisen with a fast-growing, mission-driven software company operating in a technically demanding and genuinely impactful space. If you are ready to take ownership of cloud infrastructure from the ground up and shape how a modern platform scales, could this be the role that defines the next chapter of your career?

The Role

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will take a leading hand in designing, building, and scaling the cloud backbone that underpins a flagship AI-enabled platform. Working within a small, tight-knit platform team, you will architect multi-environment cloud systems on AWS, deploy and manage containerised workloads across Kubernetes environments, and build infrastructure-as-code pipelines using Terraform to ensure every deployment is repeatable and auditable. You will also maintain CI/CD workflows, implement observability tooling across metrics, logs, and tracing, and support integration with edge-deployed systems operating across distributed, intermittently connected environments. This is a genuine build role, not a maintenance brief, with real ownership over the decisions that shape how the platform grows.

The Company

This is an established yet fast-scaling software company based in the United States, focused on delivering mission-critical platforms to defence and government customers. Having recently secured significant Series A funding and grown its team rapidly over the past year, the business is at an exciting inflection point. It operates close to its end users, with technical staff regularly embedded alongside customers to ensure the product continues to solve real operational problems. The culture is fast-moving, pragmatic, and deeply tied to meaningful outcomes.

What experience does the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer need?

  • At least four years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering, with demonstrable hands-on AWS experience spanning EC2, RDS, networking, and autoscaling, alongside production Kubernetes deployment and operations at scale
  • A proven track record of standing up infrastructure from scratch in an early-stage or build-phase environment, rather than solely inheriting and maintaining existing systems
  • Strong infrastructure-as-code skills using Terraform or a comparable tool, combined with experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines such as CircleCI or equivalent
  • Solid scripting ability in Bash, working knowledge of Python or Go, and a sound understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, load balancing, and VPCs

Benefits

  • Fully employer-paid medical, dental, and vision cover
  • Competitive equity alongside a base salary in the region of $180,000 to $220,000
  • Unlimited paid time off plus a company-wide December shutdown period
  • 401(k) and commuter benefits
