Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on

Engineering Manager

for a confidential client with a long-standing reputation for technical excellence and manufacturing performance.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a practical, systems-oriented leader who can drive process improvement, strengthen operating discipline, and elevate performance across engineering, laboratory, and production functions. The right candidate will bring strong technical depth, sound judgment, and the ability to turn complexity into clear, repeatable execution.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead engineering support across plating, laboratory, and process control operations.
  • Improve process performance, chemical utilization, precious metal consumption, and overall operating effectiveness.
  • Develop and continuously improve engineering procedures, operating standards, process controls, and training programs.
  • Lead and develop Process Engineers and Laboratory personnel.
  • Partner with production teams to solve technical challenges, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Support new product introductions, process qualifications, and customer approval activities.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource for customers, suppliers, auditors, and internal teams.
  • Support customer, regulatory, and third-party audits, including NADCAP requirements.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, equipment, chemistries, and manufacturing methods.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety through sound engineering practices and disciplined process control.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5\+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or technical leadership
  • Experience managing technical personnel
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build systems, procedures, and training programs that improve performance
  • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical operating procedures
  • Experience in electroplating, metal finishing, chemical processing, or related manufacturing preferred
  • Experience in a high-mix job shop environment preferred
  • Experience supporting customer and third-party audits preferred
