Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Chemist to join our R\&D team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of innovative products derived from natural sources, overseeing extraction processes, formulation development, analytical testing, product scale-up, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a strong scientific background combined with practical industrial experience in natural products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize extraction processes for botanical and natural raw materials.
  • Develop and optimize formulations for nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, animal health, cosmetic, or wellness products.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate extraction technologies (aqueous extraction, pressure extraction, membrane technologies, etc.).
  • Develop product specifications, stability studies, and quality control protocols.
  • Lead process scale-up from laboratory to commercial production.
  • Collaborate closely with production, quality assurance, procurement, and commercial teams.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, validation reports, and product dossiers and ensure products comply with relevant regulatory requirements in domestic and international markets.
  • Monitor scientific literature, emerging technologies, and industry trends in natural product chemistry.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior scientists and laboratory personnel.
  • Support customer technical enquiries and product development projects when required.

Qualifications

  • PhD or Master's degree in Chemistry, chemical engineering, Natural Products Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of industrial experience in natural products, botanical extracts, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in extraction, purification, and characterization of natural compounds.
  • Strong knowledge of formulation science and product development.
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation and method development.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, GLP, ISO standards, and quality management systems.
  • Experience preparing regulatory documentation for international markets is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Experience

  • Botanical extract manufacturing.
  • Functional foods or nutraceutical ingredients.
  • Cosmetic active ingredients.
  • Pharmaceutical natural products.
  • Scale-up and technology transfer.
  • Intellectual property and patent support.
  • Regulatory submissions for FDA, EFSA, EMA, TGA, Health Canada, or comparable authorities.
