Job Description:
We are seeking a highly analytical and technically strong Technical Business Analyst with a background in healthcare data reporting. This role will act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring accurate translation of complex healthcare data into meaningful insights and client-ready reporting deliverables. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of healthcare datasets, hands-on SQL expertise, and experience supporting reporting and analytics functions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and data/reporting teams to gather, analyze, and document requirements
- Translate business needs into clear technical specifications for reporting and analytics solutions
- Manage reporting intake workflows, ensuring prioritization, clarity, and timely delivery
- Analyze healthcare data including claims, eligibility, accumulators, and benefit structures
- Perform data validation and troubleshooting using SQL to ensure accuracy and integrity of reports
- Collaborate with data engineers, BI developers, and analysts to support dashboards and reporting solutions
- Support development, testing, and documentation of reporting tools and dashboards (Power BI or similar)
- Monitor and track KPIs to drive reporting efficiency and operational improvements
- Communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
- 4\+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst or similar role
- Strong experience working with healthcare data (claims, eligibility, benefits, accumulators)
- Hands-on experience with SQL for data analysis and validation
- Experience supporting reporting, analytics, or data teams
- Solid understanding of data flows, ETL processes, and data pipelines
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI (preferred)
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Background in healthcare payer, TPA, PBM, or healthcare analytics environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy
- Experience working in client-facing reporting or analytics functions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience driving process improvements and defining reporting KPIs
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with business, data, and engineering teams
