Position Overvie

wWe are seeking a highly experienced

Senior Substation Enginee

r to provide technical leadership and engineering expertise across a portfolio of renewable energy projects in North America. This role will lead substation engineering activities, ensuring designs meet company standards, utility requirements, industry best practices, and applicable electrical codes

.The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in high-voltage substation design, strong technical judgment, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle—from preliminary engineering through construction and commissioning

: Hybrid role based in San Diego, CA or Montreal, Quebec, with three days per week onsite

esSubstation and Transmission Engineering Leadersh

• ipServe as a technical subject matter expert for substation and high-voltage engineering, including physical design, protection and control systems, major equipment specifications, and electrical engineering studie
• s.Lead and support substation design activities across renewable energy projects, ensuring technical quality, reliability, and compliance with applicable standard
• s.Provide engineering guidance and resolution for complex substation design challenges throughout project executio
• n.Support transmission line design, interconnection applications, and related engineering activities as neede
• d.Develop design criteria, technical specifications, and engineering requirements for project deliverable
• s.Prepare and review engineering documentation, including single-line diagrams, electrical studies, and technical report
• s.Maintain alignment of technical specifications with evolving industry standards and best practice
• s.Coordinate external engineering consultants and resources to support project requirements and workloa
• d.Review procurement packages, vendor documentation, and technical evaluations for major high-voltage equipment, including power transformers and HV circuit breaker
• s.Collaborate with internal engineering teams and cross-functional departments, including construction and operations, to address design requirements, lessons learned, and process improvement
• s.Provide project engineering management support for select initiative
• s.Participate in industry seminars, technical discussions, and professional development activitie
