Job Title: Finance Controller P2P

Pay Band: PB7

Location: Noida

Purpose Of Job

The Finance Controller – P2P oversees end-to-end Procure-to-Pay financial accounting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. They coordinate with the Managed Service Provider and senior stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, maintain robust controls, and support effective financial management across global operations.

Main Opportunities/Challenges for this Role

Leadership

Provide leadership and people management to the team, role model British Council values and EDI in day-to-day interactions with colleagues at all levels. Ensure high levels of professionalism are demonstrated by everyone and that client and customer needs are reflected in ways of working. Champion financial accounting, providing a good standard of financial insight and financial discipline. Build a culture of continuous learning and improvement and promote learning from our experience across the unit and wider organisation.

Financial Management

Work closely with the MSP to ensure the financial accounts are completed correctly and in a timely manner.

Provide guidance and direction to ensure high level of global financial compliance

Relationship and Stakeholder Management

Provide stakeholder engagement and business partnering for retained financial processes, building strong working relationships with key stakeholders and the MSP to ensure that activities comply with professional accounting standards, technical accounting issues and other external reporting requirements in British Council.

Sector/subject expertise

Provide guidance and advice on professional accounting standards, technical accounting issues and other external reporting requirements in British Council. Liaise with other specialist finance functions such as Tax, Treasury, Finance Policy, and Global Process Owners as needed. Pro-actively identify unusual or complex transactions and recommend appropriate professional accounting treatments. Produce periodic reports relating to financial accounting.

Service Improvement

Develop, manage, and execute plans for implementation of new or updated accounting and reporting requirements in line with professional accounting standards; communicate change effectively with internal stakeholders, ensure appropriate training.

Drive standardization, automation, and efficiency initiatives

Identify process gaps and improvement opportunities in P2P

Drive standardization, automation, and efficiency initiatives

Collaborate with Group Controllership and GPOs on global initiatives

Minimum/Essential

Role Specific Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in P2P / financial accounting / controllership
  • Experience of working as Controller in a MNC environment -Several active years of financial controllership and related experience.
  • Excellent understanding of P2P process, financial control processes and Professional Accounting Standards (including local requirements where applicable) for Commercial and/or Charitable organisations.
  • Track record of managing key finance function and leading an efficient, innovative and result oriented team.
  • Ability to review processes, identify gaps and make improvements
  • SAP experience is Mandatory
