About Us

Joraco Press Company has been an innovator and leader in pneumatic press manufacturing for over 75 years. Some of the biggest names in industry have been using our presses for decades; names like 3M, Hasbro, GE, Norton, Raytheon, GM, Textron, SpaceX, Honeywell, Philips, and many more. We are the innovators of the TOGGLE-AIRE® precision benchtop press, as well as the addition of the DIRECT-AIRE®, HYDRO-AIRE™, and INDEX-AIRE™ product families. We pride ourselves on being manufactured in the USA at our Smithfield, RI Headquarters. Buying factory-direct allows our customers to save money and receive personalized service and support from engineers with real application experience.

Originally named "Joraco Metal Products," we opened our doors in 1947 as a tool, die, and stamping house located in the birthplace of American Manufacturing- Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The name JORACO is an acronym derived from our founder’s name – Joseph A. Orabone (Company). From its humble beginnings it served some of the nation’s foremost manufacturers such as America Tourister, Fram Corporation, Kaiser Aluminum, Raytheon, and Hasbro, Inc.

Observing industry’s need for a compact, reliable, accurate and powerful air press, Joraco designed its first pneumatic press in 1959 and gradually transitioned into a premier manufacturer of pneumatically powered toggle presses – the TOGGLE-AIRE® line. In 1982, Joraco had outgrown its Pawtucket manufacturing facility and moved to Smithfield, RI where it still stands today. Over the years, the TOGGLE-AIRE® press line expanded and there are currently thousands of presses and rotary indexers in the field – most still in operation. Time tested, with billions of strokes performed, they offer the user an economical and efficient alternative to full revolution and light capacity hydraulic and pneumatic presses.

In 2005, Joraco’s success drew the attention of investors and as a result Joraco® and its TOGGLE-AIRE® pneumatic press line were acquired by Automated Industrial Machine, Inc (AIM, Inc). Today, AIM, Inc continues to build on the success of its product line by incorporating new technologies such as process controls, instrumentation, and quality monitoring systems to suit the needs of its customers and the next generation in manufacturing. AIM, Inc focuses on listening to the customer and understanding their applications to provide the most cost-effective, reliable, longest lasting solution. As always, Technical Support Engineers are eager and available to discuss application requirements, only now we want to see how AIM, Inc can provide the best suited manufacturing solution – not just a press.
