Job Description
Role Overview
:
We are seeking a skilled Quantitative Analyst that wants to partner closely with an equity macro-focused Portfolio Manager. The portfolio develops high-conviction macro themes and implements them via equity swaps, thematic baskets, ETFs, index products, and options. This is a hybrid quant and markets role – not a pure research silo. The ideal candidate wants to move beyond standalone research and sit alongside a PM with direct impact on live capital.
Key Responsibilities
:
- Translate macro views into investable equity exposures, stress test those ideas in real-time, and help shape portfolio construction
- Build dashboards and visualization tools of market-intelligence, high-frequency macro, sentiment, and alternative data to support or challenge the PM’s discretionary views
- Develop and maintain tools, analytics dashboard, and infrastructure for the team
- Build models for thematic signal generation
- Conduct scenario analysis, backtesting and trade structuring exercises
- Drive efficiency in the team’s processes using AI technology when suitable
- Ad hoc projects as they come up (i.e. short squeeze analysis, P\&L factor attributions)
Qualifications
:
- Candidate must have the technical toolkit of a top-tier quant but is genuinely excited about market narratives, thematic investing, and discretionary macro
- Ability to manipulate and interact with equity data, knowledge of equity factors are a plus
- Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, NumPy, statsmodels), SQL, and data visualization
- Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate in a small, high-trust team environment
- Candidate is prepared to eventually think in terms of investable narratives – not just numbers
- Bachelors or Masters degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, financial engineering, mathematics or statistics
- 1-3 years of work experience
