is seeking an experienced

Vice President of Data Engineering

to lead enterprise‑scale data platform strategy and execution for a large healthcare organization undergoing digital transformation. This role is ideal for a senior data engineering leader with a proven track record of building and operating modern, cloud‑native data ecosystems that power analytics, AI/ML, and real‑time decision‑making across the enterprise.

As the VP of Data Engineering, you will drive the architecture, modernization, and governance of scalable data platforms while leading high‑performing engineering teams. You will partner closely with executive leadership and key stakeholders to translate strategic business goals into secure, compliant, and production‑ready data solutions.

Location: Remote w/ travel to Dallas, TX

Pay: Starting at $300,000 per year

What You’ll Do

  • Define and lead enterprise data engineering strategy, architecture, and execution across large‑scale initiatives.
  • Architect and operate cloud‑native data platforms that support advanced analytics, AI/ML, and GenAI workloads.
  • Provide technical and organizational leadership to large data engineering teams, establishing standards, best practices, and delivery discipline.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align data initiatives with business objectives and long‑term platform strategy.
  • Ensure strong data governance, security, privacy, and compliance across all platforms and pipelines.
  • Drive operational excellence, scalability, and reliability within complex enterprise environments.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience leading enterprise‑scale data engineering architecture and strategy.
  • Deep hands‑on expertise with

Snowflake, Azure, dbt, Sigma

, and

Epic / clinical data systems

.

  • Proven experience designing and operating

AI‑ and ML‑ready data platforms

supporting advanced analytics and GenAI use cases.

  • Strong leadership experience managing large engineering organizations and complex technical programs.
  • Excellent stakeholder and executive partnership skills, with the ability to translate strategy into technical execution.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting multiple enterprise clients across healthcare or other regulated industries.
  • Background in large‑scale data migrations, data modeling, and multi‑tenant or data‑separation strategies.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML tools and frameworks beyond core platform architecture.
  • Experience with

Power BI

or other enterprise visualization tools.

Preferred Education \& Experience

  • Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 10\+ years

of senior data engineering or architecture experience, including

5\+ years

in executive or senior leadership roles.

  • Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional teams within enterprise environments.

Other Requirements

  • Open to on‑site work; local candidates or those willing to relocate are preferred.
  • Remote candidates considered with the expectation of in‑person presence for onboarding and key milestones.
  • Willingness to engage directly with executive leadership, including C‑suite stakeholders and external partners.
