About The Company

Aon is a global leader in professional services, providing risk, retirement, and health solutions that empower organizations and individuals to make better decisions. With a rich history of innovation and a commitment to client success, Aon helps its clients navigate complex challenges in an ever-changing world. The company fosters an inclusive and collaborative environment, emphasizing trust, integrity, and continuous learning. Aon’s mission is to shape decisions for the better, ensuring protection and enrichment for people worldwide. As part of its strategic initiatives, Aon invests heavily in digital transformation and innovative technology solutions to enhance its service offerings and operational efficiency.

About The Role

Aon is seeking a highly skilled UX/UI Designer with a strong focus on design systems to lead the development and scaling of our insurance e-commerce platform. This virtual role primarily supports the CST/EST time zones, offering flexibility and remote working opportunities. The successful candidate will serve as the primary architect of our design library, leveraging Figma AI and Make to create an intelligent, scalable, and cohesive design system across multiple insurance sites. The role involves bridging the gap between high-level product concepts and developer implementation, ensuring that design tokens, components, and accessibility standards are seamlessly integrated into the development process. The designer will play a pivotal role in maintaining and evolving our component library, establishing best practices for responsive design, and ensuring our digital products adhere to WCAG accessibility standards. Additionally, the candidate will lead efforts in AI tool stewardship, training product managers in vibe-coding, and producing comprehensive developer documentation for smooth handoffs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of digital insurance experiences through innovative design system practices and AI integration.

Qualifications

  • 5\+ years of professional UX/UI design experience, preferably within complex, data-driven environments such as Insurance, FinTech, or SaaS
  • Deep proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, Variables, Components, and latest Figma AI/Make features
  • Experience managing or contributing to large-scale design systems
  • Strong understanding of form design and responsive component architecture
  • Knowledge of semantic design tokens and their application in scalable design systems
  • Experience with AI tools for design automation and prompt engineering
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and sell design visions to stakeholders and leadership
  • Ability to educate and train non-designers on complex tools and workflows
  • Strong systems thinking and automation mindset, viewing design systems as living, scalable entities
  • Experience with accessibility standards, particularly WCAG compliance, and ethical UI patterns
  • Proven ability to work independently in a virtual environment and support collaborative teams

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and evolve a comprehensive component library for over 50 insurance e-commerce sites, ensuring consistency and scalability
  • Architect and refine design tokens related to color, spacing, typography, and semantic layers aligned with engineering and global design standards
  • Lead the technical process of priming AI tools like Figma Make to understand and generate system-aware layouts based on semantic tokens
  • Execute the full design lifecycle, including wireframing, prototyping, and visual design, with a focus on clarity and minimal cognitive load
  • Empower product managers through "vibe-coding" training, enabling rapid iteration while maintaining design integrity
  • Produce detailed, developer-ready documentation covering interaction states, variable logic, and responsive breakpoints
  • Ensure all components and interfaces are accessible, adhering to WCAG standards and promoting inclusive design practices
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate high-level concepts into tangible, scalable design solutions
  • Advocate for ethical UI patterns, avoiding deceptive practices and promoting transparent, user-centric experiences

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans
  • 401(k) savings plan with employer contributions
  • Employee stock purchase plan and long-term incentive awards
  • Paid time off, including 12 holidays and 15 days of vacation annually
  • Paid sick leave and short-term disability coverage
  • Health savings account and dependent care reimbursement options
  • Life insurance, supplemental life, and AD\&D coverage
  • Adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement programs
  • Flexible working arrangements and remote work support
  • Employee assistance programs offering free counseling sessions
  • Global Wellbeing Days encouraging personal health and wellness
  • Opportunities for continuous learning, professional growth, and development
