Hinduja Tech Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and technically strong Mechatronics / Electrical Systems Engineer with advanced expertise in automotive electrical architecture, wiring harness development, vehicle communication protocols, and electrical integration for commercial vehicle platforms.
Key Responsibilities:+ Lead end-to-end development of complex low-voltage and high-voltage automotive electrical distribution systems, including wiring harness architecture, routing, clipping strategy, packaging feasibility, and vehicle integration.
+ Develop and optimize advanced wiring schematics, harness topology, and electrical system documentation using Capital Logic and Capital Harness XC (CHS) applications.
+ Perform detailed 3D CAD modeling and packaging studies for harness routing, retention systems, mounting brackets, and electrical component integration using NX/Unigraphics tools.
+ Design and validate mounting structures, bracket systems, and retention mechanisms for electrical/electronic components with structural and stress validation using Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
+ Develop CAN backbone architecture, feature specifications, VMM logic, and network communication strategies based on SAE J1939 communication protocols.
+ Conduct advanced root cause analysis and troubleshooting for vehicle electrical, mechatronics, and network communication issues within production and field environments.
+ Coordinate directly with suppliers for development, validation, PPAP activities, and implementation of new electrical and mechatronics components.
+ Perform DFMEA development and risk assessments for new electrical designs, systems, and components.
+ Execute design verification and validation activities through DVPR methodologies and engineering release processes.
+ Manage BOM creation, release activities, engineering change management, and manufacturing documentation through IMACS, SMARAGD, ERS\+, and related engineering systems.
+ Support prototype builds, production launch activities, manufacturing issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Utilize Visual Management methodologies to track project milestones, issue resolution status, and engineering deliverables.
+ Interface with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Supplier Quality, Program Management, and Vehicle Engineering teams to ensure successful program execution.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- 2–4 years of relevant automotive engineering experience OR 6 years of equivalent hands-on engineering experience in lieu of degree.

- Knowledge of advanced vehicle electrical diagnostics and network troubleshooting methodologies.
- Experience with high-voltage electrical systems integration preferred. Additional Information

Engineer (full time; multiple openings)
- Engineer(s) needed to work in Farmington Hills, MI and various and unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. to understand the Mechatronics engineering department project requirements.
- Create Routing and Clipping using 3D CAD tools.
- Design automotive electrical wiring schematics and harnesses using CHS (Capital Logic and Capital Harness XC) application.
- Design brackets for electrical component mounting and harness/cable routing and clipping, as well as including stress analysis (FEA).
- Interact and work with the suppliers for the development of new components.
- Create CAN backbone/feature specs/VMM following SAE J1939 Communication protocol.
- Diagnose truck issues and troubleshooting.
- Identify and solve the root cause of complex problems.
- Understand engineering processes and downstream impacts.
- DFMEA preparation for new parts/components/designs.
- Design verification and validation using DVPR reports.
- Bill of materials (BOM) release through IMACS.
- Responsible for manufacturing drawing preparation and part release through Smaragd and ERS\+.
- Must have: Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering (any), or a related field, plus two (2) years of automotive engineering experience as an Automotive Engineer, Sr. Engineer, Engineer, Sr. CAD Designer, or related position.
- One (1) of the two (2) years of automotive engineering experience must include experience with the following: Unigraphics NX, TeamCenter, and Capital XC.
- In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, we will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience, as determined by a professional evaluation service.
- All experience may be acquired concurrently.
- Travel and/or relocation may be required.
- Frequency of travel approximately 10% per year.
- International travel is not required.
- Domestic travel and relocation to unanticipated locations throughout the United States required as needed based on Hinduja Tech Inc. business needs.
