THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our award-winning firm in the Vancouver office.

What You’ll Do

The Business Analyst partners with business stakeholders and technology teams to identify business needs, analyze processes, document requirements, and support the delivery of strategic initiatives. The role is responsible for translating business objectives into actionable requirements and ensuring solutions align with organizational goals and regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities

Business Analysis and Requirements Management

  • Elicit, analyze, and validate business requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process reviews
  • Develop clear documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and process maps
  • Translate business needs into actionable requirements for technical teams
  • Support solution design to ensure alignment with business objectives

Process Improvement

  • Analyze current business processes and identify opportunities for efficiency and automation
  • Document current-state and future-state workflows
  • Recommend process improvements to reduce operational risk and improve client and employee experiences
  • Assist in the development of business cases and cost-benefit analyses

Project Delivery

  • Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to support project execution
  • Participate in planning, testing, implementation, and post-implementation activities
  • Track requirements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies

Testing and Quality Assurance

  • Develop test scenarios and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Validate delivered solutions against documented requirements
  • Coordinate defect resolution and business sign-off activities

Stakeholder Communication

  • Build trusted working relationships with business units, technology teams, and vendors
  • Facilitate meetings to support alignment, decision-making, and issue resolution
  • Present findings, recommendations, project updates, and supporting documentation to stakeholders and leadership

  • Analysis – Assess quantitative and qualitative data, information, or situations to understand the most important details, identify patterns or meaning, and translate it into useful recommendations, decisions, or actions
  • Change Management – Create strategies, plans and solutions that guide people and teams through change to ensure smooth transitions, buy-in, and sustained outcomes
  • Consulting – Conduct discovery, plan and design solutions, implement strategies, and provide advice to stakeholders within the firm to solve challenges, achieve target state and/or improve performance
  • Process Improvement and Documentation – Uncover, understand, document, optimize and communicate processes to make them more efficient, effective, and consistent
  • Project Management – Plan, coordinate, execute, and oversee projects, balancing time, resources, and scope to achieve objectives, support stakeholders, and meet deadlines
  • Requirements Gathering – Discover, identify, document, and validate business needs to inform system or vendor selection, solution development, and/or project planning
  • Software Development – Design, build, deploy, and maintain software solutions to meet functional and technical requirements

Knowledge And Experience

  • 3\+ years of Business Analysis experience delivering on business and technology projects
  • Experience in investment management, wealth management, brokerage, or related financial services environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Visio, or similar platforms
  • Experience with SQL Server administration and development, as well as report development using SQL Server Reporting Services, is an asset
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or similar certification
  • Knowledge of Canadian financial services regulations, including CIRO, Client Focused Reforms, privacy requirements, and operational controls
  • Experience with portfolio management systems, CRM platforms, trading systems, digital client onboarding, cybersecurity initiatives, or related business technology platforms

  • Identify and recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and user experience
  • Support strategic initiatives from discovery through implementation
  • Build trusted relationships with business and technology stakeholders
  • Ensure solutions meet business objectives, regulatory expectations, and user needs
