Job Description
Role: Firmware Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Key Responsibilities
System Engineering \& Architecture
- Analyze product and system requirements and translate them into firmware and software requirements.
- Drive system-level architecture discussions involving hardware, firmware, middleware, and application layers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define interfaces, communication protocols, and integration strategies.
- Support requirement traceability, impact analysis, and architecture reviews.
Firmware Development
- Design, develop, and debug embedded firmware for microcontroller and microprocessor-based platforms.
- Implement device drivers, bootloaders, communication stacks, and middleware components.
- Optimize firmware for performance, memory utilization, reliability, and power consumption.
- Support RTOS and bare-metal firmware development.
Required Skillsets:
Firmware \& Embedded Systems
- Strong experience in Embedded C/C\+\+ development.
- Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, ThreadX, VxWorks, Zephyr, QNX, etc.).
- Expertise in low-level firmware and driver development.
- Experience with bootloaders, BSPs, and platform bring-up.
