Job Description

Financial Analyst – Project Finance

Greater Tampa Bay, FL – In-Office

Competitive Compensation \+ Full Benefits

A well‑established organization in the Greater Tampa Bay area is seeking a Financial Analyst with a strong

project‑finance orientation

to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight across complex, multi‑phase initiatives. This role is designed for professionals who enjoy working close to the action — partnering directly with operational leaders to track financial performance, manage risk, and guide decision‑making throughout the full lifecycle of projects.

This is not a traditional reporting or corporate FP\&A role. The analyst will be actively involved from planning through close‑out, gaining end‑to‑end exposure to how scope, cost, timing, and change impact financial outcomes. Success in this position requires comfort operating in fast‑moving environments, strong relationship skills, and the ability to translate financial data into practical insight for non‑finance stakeholders.

The role offers meaningful ownership, variety, and visibility, making it an excellent opportunity for analysts who want to deepen their project‑based finance experience while continuing to build strong analytical foundations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and consolidate recurring project budget and forecast updates from operational teams
  • Support baseline budgeting and reforecasting activities across assigned projects or initiatives
  • Track and report on project financials, including budgets, expenditures, commitments, forecasts, and variances
  • Partner with project managers to identify financial risks, trends, and potential impacts throughout execution
  • Participate in project and planning discussions, providing financial insight to support decision‑making
  • Review financial activity for alignment with internal policies, contractual terms, and approved budgets
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses and scenario modeling related to project performance, scope changes, and timing
  • Investigate and explain variances between actuals, forecasts, and baseline budgets
  • Compile and present financial summaries for management and finance leadership
  • Support project financial close‑out activities, including reconciliation and final reporting
  • Contribute to process improvements that strengthen forecasting accuracy and reporting efficiency
  • Collaborate with senior analysts or finance leadership on special projects and risk reviews

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline
  • 2–5 years of

project finance, project controls, cost analysis, or project‑focused financial analysis

experience

  • Hands‑on experience managing or analyzing project‑level financials (required)
  • Strong Excel proficiency, including advanced formulas, lookups, and pivot tables
  • Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to operational and non‑finance partners
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow‑through
  • Comfortable working independently in a deadline‑driven, multi‑project environment
  • Collaborative, relationship‑oriented working style
  • Local to the Greater Tampa Bay area or willing to relocate, in-office

Compensation \& Benefits

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plan
  • Paid time off, holidays, and additional leave programs
  • Supportive team environment with experienced leadership
  • Opportunities for continued professional growth within finance or operations

Why This Role for Project Finance Professionals

  • True

project‑lifecycle exposure

from planning through close‑out

  • Direct partnership with operations and project leadership
  • High‑impact role influencing real‑time decisions
  • Variety across multiple projects — no repetitive reporting cycle
  • Strong platform for advancement into senior project finance or leadership roles
