Chandler Industries is growing - and we’re looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to help lead the next phase of our manufacturing innovation.

This is a working leadership role responsible for leading manufacturing engineering, CNC programming, and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to ensure successful product launches and continuous improvement in our machining operations. The Engineering Manager will play a key role in developing robust manufacturing processes, supporting operations, and delivering high-quality products to customers in aerospace, defense, medical, and other high-spec industries.

What You’ll Do

Lead and Develop Engineering Teams

  • Lead, mentor, and develop manufacturing engineers, CNC programmers, and process engineers.
  • Prioritize engineering resources across NPI programs, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish engineering standards, best practices, and documentation requirements.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and performance development of engineering staff.

Drive New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Lead engineering execution for new product launches from concept through production release.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management.
  • Ensure manufacturability through design reviews and process development.
  • Support first article inspections (FAI), process validation, and production readiness.

Oversee CNC Programming \& Manufacturing Processes

  • Provide oversight for CNC programming across 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills, lathes, mill-turns, and EDM.
  • Approve machining strategies including toolpath optimization, tooling selection, and fixturing design.
  • Ensure processes meet cycle time, quality, and repeatability goals.
  • Support new equipment installation, automation initiatives, and process qualification.

Improve Production Performance

  • Partner with Operations to resolve production challenges and bottlenecks.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Drive initiatives that reduce costs and improve productivity through:

+ Cycle time improvements

+ Tool life optimization

+ Process consolidation

Champion Continuous Improvement

  • Implement new machining technologies, automation, and advanced manufacturing solutions.
  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Track engineering KPIs such as:

+ NPI on-time launch

+ First-pass yield

+ Scrap and rework reduction

+ Cost and cycle time improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 7\+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a precision machining environment
  • 3\+ years of leadership experience managing engineering or technical teams
  • Strong experience with CNC machining, process development, and production support
  • Experience working in ISO-regulated manufacturing environments
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or NADCAP environments
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training
