Job Description

We are currently hiring for a Mechanical Engineer 2 – Engineering CPI Coordinator to support continuous product improvement initiatives for a leading manufacturing client. This role focuses on project coordination, engineering support, and driving Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) projects across engine platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) and LEPI projects across engineering teams
  • Provide project oversight, planning, execution tracking, and closure support
  • Work closely with L3 and L4 engineering teams to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met
  • Maintain CPI project lists, status reports, milestones, and closure dates
  • Identify at-risk projects and drive re-planning activities for schedule improvement
  • Support root cause identification and ensure projects are launched with clear ownership
  • Manage system updates including project plans, sponsors, serial numbers, and milestone tracking
  • Lead weekly status meetings, customer service reviews, and supply chain discussions
  • Prepare leadership review materials including project summaries and escalation recommendations
  • Support customer success by helping resolve product issues and improving product performance

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
  • 2–4 years of engineering experience required
  • Strong knowledge of Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), DMAIC, and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Basic understanding of Gas and/or Diesel Engine operations
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Creo and Teamcenter
  • Large engine troubleshooting experience
  • Familiarity with engine product configuration
  • Caterpillar 6 Sigma training
  • Knowledge of CSA, EU, and API standards
