is a leader in the development and manufacturing of encapsulation, emulsion, and fire-retardant (FR) chemistries used across specialty chemical and advanced materials markets. The

Dayton, Ohio

facility serves as a critical hub for microencapsulation and phase-change material (PCM) production.

The

Quality Control Chemist

will play a key role in the production and qualification of Alexium’s microencapsulated phase change and flame retardant products and contributing to the advancement of our core microencapsulation technologies.

Candidates should possess 1-5 years experience, preferably working in a manufacturing, analytical or research laboratory and demonstrate a strong orientation for process adherence and for identifying issues that effect quality production.

Dayton, OH area candidates are our preference and focus.

Responsibilities

:

  • Conduct testing and chemical analyses to support manufacturing \& operations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Analyze and interpret data, draw meaningful conclusions, and prepare detailed reports for project teams and management.
  • Follow and optimize standard testing methods for the characterization and quality control of microencapsulated raw materials and formulated products.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including but not limited to, calorimetry, chromatography, and various analytical instruments.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate laboratory records, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including chemists, engineers, and project managers, to achieve project objectives.
  • Participate in quality control and assurance activities, ensuring that all products meet regulatory and quality standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with current developments in the field of chemistry, and apply new knowledge to improve processes and methodologies.

Qualifications

:

  • Bachelor’s in chemistry (or Science related) with 1-5 years experience. Prior internships and co-op work can be relevant experience. Prior experience working in a manufacturing, analytical or research laboratory is preferred.
  • USP, FDA, and cGMP Regulations: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry principles.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including calorimetry, chromatography, and wet chemistry methods.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and quality control practices is advantageous.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to laboratory protocols.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
