About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Operations and Investment SME to join our healthcare consulting practice. The role is fully remote within the US, with infrequent travel to client locations for onboarding and training. What you'll do

  • Provides coordination, oversight, and administrative services that enable effective planning, execution, and completion of programs or projects. This includes activities such as resource coordination, project tracking, documentation, risk and issue management, stakeholder communication, and operational alignment to help ensure successful delivery of outcomes. Provide IT Operations and Investment support coupled with Business Process Improvement knowledge.
  • The IT Operations and Investment SME shall be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively plan and coordinate the activities of the team. Projects usually have aggressive timeframes, which drives being completely initiated and planned (attainment of the initial base-lined state) very quickly. The projects usually have multiple system interfaces, various functional disciplines, and varying levels of enterprise exposure and overall corporate impact. The contractor will be assigned projects and/or designated program delivery work packages as part of the larger Program effort. The specific assignments will come in the direction and oversight of the RD ACIO and DACIO.
  • Manage projects to adhere to Federal Acquisition standards for projects aligned with a major federal investment.
  • Develop and maintain IT project management artifacts, including project plans, gate review packages, risk monitoring tools, and expenditure reports, needed to effectively manage the program and customer projects in accordance with approved schedules and budgets.
  • Provide regular IT project status reporting to business sponsors and oversight bodies, and shall identify, assess, and recommend mitigation strategies for risks impacting schedule or budget.
  • Recommend timely corrective actions to address variances before they affect project success.
  • Prepare status reports, host meetings, create meeting agendas and technical program presentations for upper-level management and sponsors.
  • Use Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel to develop project documents, presentations, and project plans, as applicable.
  • Maintain, store, and manage all project artifacts and related documentation within Government‑provided repositories, including SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence, or any other Government‑designated platform, as required.
  • Identify customers’ requirements through constructive collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Provide all investment project reporting deliverables and work closely with the investment team on reporting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience providing operational oversight, operational reporting, and investment management support aligned with federal acquisition standards.
  • Strong knowledge of federal IT investment processes, project management methodologies, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with USDA or other federal agency IT operations preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and collaboration platforms (SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence).
