Role Overview
The SEO/GEO Optimization Specialist executes the day-to-day optimization work that keeps our clients discoverable — across search engines and AI-powered platforms like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Gemini. You'll work closely within the Optimization department, taking ownership of research, on-page execution, and reporting across a portfolio of client accounts. This is a great fit for someone early in their SEO career who wants to build real expertise in one of the fastest-moving parts of digital marketing.
Responsibilities
Research \& Strategy Support
- Conduct keyword, query, and topic research to inform SEO, AEO, and GEO content decisions
- Audit client websites and content for extractability, citation likelihood, and semantic relevance in AI search contexts
- Conduct competitor and content-gap analysis to identify optimization opportunities
Execution
- Execute on-page optimization: titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking, and image alt text
- Support structured data and schema markup recommendations
- Coordinate with content writers, designers, and client stakeholders to implement optimization recommendations
Reporting \& Documentation
- Monitor rankings, featured snippet performance, and AI citation/inclusion metrics; compile client-facing reporting
- Maintain documentation of optimization changes, tests, and results across accounts
- Stay current on evolving SEO/AEO/GEO best practices and platform changes, bringing new ideas back to the team
Qualifications \& Skills
- 2–4 years of experience in SEO, content strategy, or digital marketing
- Working knowledge of SEO tools such as Semrush, Moz, or Google Search Console
- Familiarity with schema markup and structured data concepts
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into clear recommendations
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple client accounts at once
Desired Skills (Nice to Have)
- Agency experience or knowledge
- Website design, development, or CMS experience or knowledge
- Familiarity with emerging AI-visibility strategies
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
Compensation \& Benefits
- Base salary range:
$55,000–$65,000
