Job Description
Brief Role Description
An Electrical Engineer supporting new generation development within the power business, responsible for delivering in-house electrical engineering expertise across early-stage solution development and project execution. This role focuses on designing and evaluating electrical concepts for large-scale power delivery, particularly for data center customers utilizing Private Use Network (PUN) configurations. The position plays a key role in translating customer electrical requirements into feasible technical solutions, supporting interconnection strategies, and ensuring alignment with utility and system constraints.
In addition to early-stage development work, this role supports detailed engineering throughout project execution, including review and validation of third-party designs, electrical studies, single line diagrams, protection schemes, grounding, and equipment specifications. Acting as an internal technical authority, the engineer helps reduce project risk, improve design consistency, and accelerate development timelines while minimizing reliance on external engineering resources.
Requirements
- Support Power Solutions by designing and assessing electrical concepts to meet data center load demands, including redundancy and reliability requirements.
- Provide internal expertise on Private Use Network (PUN) configurations, interconnection approaches, and coordination with utility stakeholders.
- Translate customer electrical requirements into practical, technically sound engineering solutions.
- Identify electrical risks early in development and propose effective mitigation and design strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required
- 5–10 years of experience in power generation, electrical infrastructure, or industrial controls systems
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Experience with data centers, Private Use Networks, or utility interconnection projects strongly preferred
