Job Description
About Avèro Advisors
Avèro Advisors is a boutique government technology consulting firm specializing in ERP modernization and digital transformation for state and local government. We work with cities, counties, and public agencies to help them select, implement, and optimize financial and operational systems — independently, without the conflicts of interest that come with being a software vendor or a large systems integrator.
We are trusted advisors, not order takers. Our clients choose us because we tell them the truth, deliver what we promise, and stay engaged long after the contract is signed. That reputation has built a $7\.5M firm through almost entirely referral-driven growth. We are ready to grow further — deliberately and on our terms.
Our Ethos
Avèro stands as a beacon of innovation, driven by the purpose of making government interactions simpler through technology. We focus on enabling agencies to implement efficient, automated enterprise systems that improve service delivery and enhance the lives of citizens.
As a minority-owned, MBE/DBE-certified firm, we are deeply committed to diversity, inclusion, and expanding opportunity—within our company and the communities we serve.
What We Offer:
- High Growth Opportunity: Avèro Advisors is on a remarkable growth trajectory. The right candidates will have the chance to move up quickly, taking on more significant responsibilities and shaping the future of the company.
- Impactful Work: Make a real difference in how local governments serve their communities, improving the lives of citizens through technology.
- Inclusive Culture: Join a team that values diversity, inclusion, and innovation. We believe in giving every idea a chance to shine and every team member the opportunity to grow.

At Avèro Advisors, we’re not just consultants—we’re change-makers. If you're driven to make a lasting impact and ready to accelerate your career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you. Together, we can redefine what’s possible for local governments and the communities they serve.
The Opportunity
The person in this role will own sales from the ground up — building pipeline, chasing existing pipeline, developing relationships, and closing new consulting engagements across the SLED market. You will work directly with the Founder \& CEO, with full visibility into the firm's strategy, clients, and opportunities.
This is not a role for someone who needs a full SDR team, a marketing engine, and a brand name behind them to function. It is a role for someone who knows how government buys, already has relationships worth calling on, and wants to own
something real.
What You'll Do
– Build and manage a pipeline of new consulting opportunities in the SLED market — cities, counties, special districts, and state agencies
– Develop and maintain relationships with government buyers: CAOs, CFOs, CIOs, procurement officials, and department directors
– Represent Avèro at government technology conferences, association events, and procurement forums (ICMA, GFOA, NACo, and similar)
– Qualify inbound inquiries and convert referrals into active engagements
– Collaborate with the delivery team to drive growth, scope engagements and develop proposals
– Provide market intelligence — what agencies are planning, what RFPs are coming, where the opportunities are
– Help shape how Avèro's business development and sales function is built — you're writing the playbook
What We're Looking For
Required:
– 5\+ years of quota-carrying sales experience in enterprise software, ERP, or technology consulting sold to state and local government
– Demonstrated track record closing deals in the SLED market — you know how government procurement actually works
– Existing relationships with government buyers who will take your call
– Consultative approach — you diagnose before you pitch
– Comfort operating independently, without heavy support infrastructure
– Willingness to travel for in-person relationship building
Preferred:
– Background with Oracle NetSuite, SAP, Tyler Technologies, Workday, or similar government ERP platforms
– Familiarity with cooperative purchasing vehicles (NASPO, Sourcewell, OMNIA)
– Active participation in government professional associations
– Prior experience at a boutique firm, SI, or independent advisory — you understand the resource constraints and thrive anyway
Why Avèro
– Your work is visible and valued — you're not one of 3,000 sellers
– Direct access to firm leadership and a founder who can close alongside you
– Clients you can be proud of — public agencies doing important work
– Commission structure tied directly to what you produce
– A firm that has grown deliberately and will grow the right way
The pay range for this role is:
80,000 - 95,000 USD per year(USA)
