Job Description
Studying marine ecosystems and contributing to the conservation and sustainable management of marine resources by;
- Conducting field surveys in marine environments to study marine life, ecosystems, and biodiversity.
- Utilizing various sampling data collected through techniques, including underwater diving, netting, and remote sensing.
- Collecting and analyzing biological, physical, and chemical data from marine samples.
- Identifying and classifying marine species, including fish, invertebrates, and algae.
- Maintaining accurate records of species encountered during research/ survey activities.
- Assessing the health and status of marine ecosystems, identifying potential threats and stressors.
- Providing recommendations for the conservation and restoration of marine habitats.
- Working closely with conservation organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions.
- Contributing to environmental impact assessments related to marine projects.
- Evaluating the potential ecological effects and propose mitigation measures.
- Communicating and creating awareness to the staff and public through outreach programs, presentations, and educational materials to raise awareness about marine conservation.
