The Opportunity

We’re looking for a high-impact, commercially driven individual to establish and grow new business opportunities across the US life sciences recruitment market.

This is a pure business development role where you will focus on opening doors, building relationships and winning new clients and projects. Our specialist delivery teams will then take ownership of fulfilling those assignments.

You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy in the US, while collaborating closely with an experienced UK based team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Identifying, engaging and converting new clients across pharma, biotech and medtech
  • Building senior-level relationships across both industry organisations and consultancy partners (e.g. medical communications, market access and strategy consultancies)
  • Leading consultative commercial discussions from initial outreach through to signed terms and briefing
  • Acting as the face of Carrot Recruitment in the US market
  • Partnering with internal delivery teams to ensure smooth handover and long-term client success
  • Contributing to the broader US growth strategy

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven track record in life sciences recruitment and/or business development
  • Strong understanding of the US life sciences landscape and buying dynamics
  • Demonstrated success in winning new business and building long-term client relationships
  • A true hunter mindset: proactive, resilient, and motivated by opening new opportunities
  • Balanced with a consultative approach: credible, thoughtful, and relationship-led (not transactional)
  • Highly organised, self-driven, and comfortable operating autonomously
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders

Location

  • US-based, remote (East Coast strongly preferred to align with UK team)
