The Role
We're looking for a talented photographer and content creator to embed with our construction team on two active job sites in Oakland. Your mission is to visually document the story of how oWOW builds, capturing the precision, scale, and innovation behind our process, and translate that into compelling content for our social media channels. From dramatic drone footage of key construction milestones to candid interviews with the people building the future of housing, you'll be the eye on the ground that brings our work to life.
What You'll Do
- Produce
organic social media content
for Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and other platforms, including crew interviews, behind-the-scenes moments, and “day-in-the-life” footage
- Conduct
on-site interviews
with workers, crew, project managers, and leadership to capture authentic perspectives on the build process
- Capture
drone footage
of key construction operations, including concrete pours, mass timber panel assembly, façade installation, and other milestone moments.
- Set up and manage
timelapse cameras
on nearby buildings to document the full construction arc of both sites
- Capture, edit and deliver
ready-to-post photo and video assets
optimized for each platform
- Maintain a consistent visual identity that reflects oWOW's brand standards across all content
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience documenting architecture, real estate development, or large-scale construction projects
- Prior work creating content for brand social media channels
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with site teams and leadership
Minimum Skills
- Aerial drone operation and flight planning
- Video and photo editing (color grading, cutting for social formats)
- Short-form video content creation (Reels, Shorts, clips)
- Interviewing and directing non-professional subjects on camera
Preferred Skills
- Timelapse photography setup, calibration, and monitoring
- Motion graphics or light animation for social posts
- Strong instinct for storytelling and narrative structure
Minimum Equipment (Candidate Must Own)
- Professional camera with appropriate lenses
- Drone capable of cinematic aerial footage
- Dedicated timelapse camera(s) suitable for long-term outdoor installation
- External audio recording equipment for interviews
