You will join Spotify’s Global Government Affairs team, working at the intersection of policy, technology, and creativity. This team partners with governments, regulators, and industry groups around the world to help shape a fair, innovative, and inclusive digital ecosystem.
In Australia and New Zealand, you’ll play a key role in representing Spotify’s voice on issues that matter to creators, listeners, and the broader media landscape—ranging from competition and online safety to AI and the future of the creative economy.
What You'll Do
Lead Spotify’s government affairs strategy across Australia and New Zealand, building trusted relationships with policymakers and stakeholdersRepresent Spotify in meetings with government officials, regulators, and industry groups across both marketsShape and influence public policy on issues impacting the digital, media, and creator ecosystemProvide clear, strategic guidance to senior leaders on political, legislative, and regulatory developmentsPartner with Legal, Public Policy, Communications, and business teams to align on priorities and messagingMonitor policy trends and proactively identify risks and opportunities for Spotify, creators, and usersDevelop advocacy strategies and positions that reflect Spotify’s values and support a sustainable, inclusive creative economyTravel regularly between Sydney and Canberra to maintain strong, in-person engagement Who You Are
You have significant experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field across Australia and New ZealandYou are experienced in building relationships with government officials, regulators, and industry stakeholdersYou have a strong understanding of the ANZ political and regulatory landscape, including legislative processesYou know how to turn complex policy topics into clear, actionable insightsYou are comfortable advising senior leaders and contributing to strategic decision-makingYou care about creating a fair, inclusive, and forward-looking environment for creators, platforms, and usersYou communicate clearly and represent organizations externally with credibility and authenticityYou are able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment with sound judgment Where You'll Be
This role can be based in Sydney or CanberraThere will be some in-person meetings, but it still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come to the office 2 to 3 times per week.
