Position Overview

Our client is seeking an

IT Systems Analyst / WordPress Web Developer

to support enterprise business applications and web platforms. This hybrid role combines business systems analysis with hands-on WordPress development and application support.

The ideal candidate will partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements, improve business processes, support enterprise applications, troubleshoot production issues, and develop and maintain WordPress websites. This role will also support application modernization efforts, DevOps processes, and legacy platform migrations.

Responsibilities

Business Systems Analysis

• Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
• Perform gap analysis and recommend process and system improvements.
• Create functional specifications, process flows, data flows, and technical documentation.
• Support feasibility studies, solution design, and application migration initiatives.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

WordPress Development \& Application Support

• Develop, maintain, and enhance WordPress websites, including custom themes, plugins, and integrations.
• Troubleshoot website performance, plugin conflicts, database issues, and hosting-related problems.
• Develop web solutions using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, and MySQL.
• Review existing WordPress code, identify technical debt, and recommend improvements.
• Support website migrations, including IIS to Apache/Linux environments.

Production Support \& Quality Assurance

• Create and execute test plans and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Troubleshoot production issues across applications, websites, and databases.
• Document defects, validate fixes, and ensure solutions meet business requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation, release notes, and support procedures.
• Provide ongoing application support and continuous improvement recommendations.

DevOps \& Release Management

• Support Git repositories and source control best practices.
• Assist with Azure DevOps release pipelines and deployment processes.
• Participate in application releases and environment management activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Web Developer, Application Support Analyst, or similar hybrid role.
• Strong experience gathering requirements, documenting business processes, testing, and production support.
• Hands-on WordPress development experience, including themes, plugins, customization, and troubleshooting.
• Strong development skills with:
• PHP
• JavaScript
• HTML/CSS
• SQL \& MySQL
• Experience supporting IIS, Apache, Linux, Git, and Azure DevOps.
• Ability to review source code, identify technical debt, and recommend improvements.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience supporting Salesforce, ERP, CRM, or other enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Visio, Miro, Enterprise Architect, or similar tools.
• Experience supporting accounting, sales, legal, or compliance applications.
• Experience with website migrations, deployment automation, backups, and environment management.
