Job Description

Beyel Brothers, Inc. is one of the largest crane and rigging companies in the United States. Family-owned and serving clients nationwide since 1989, we deliver turnkey solutions in crane, rigging, heavy hauling, and marine services — backed by a fully owned fleet, in-house fabrication, and a team built for precision and safety.

We're looking for an

In-House Engineer

to join our team and support our most complex lifting and transport projects from concept to completion.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and stamp engineered lift plans for crane operations, including critical and multi-crane lifts
  • Perform ground bearing pressure, crane mat, and foundation analyses to ensure safe setup conditions
  • Engineer rigging and heavy haul configurations, including load routing, axle loading, and transport stability
  • Conduct structural calculations for lifting points, spreader bars, and custom rigging assemblies
  • Collaborate with operations, project managers, and field crews to translate site conditions into safe, executable plans
  • Review site and route surveys, bridge/road capacities, and permitting requirements for oversized loads
  • Support in-house fabrication with design and structural review

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
  • PE license (or actively working toward licensure) preferred
  • Experience in crane/rigging engineering, heavy haul, or structural/construction engineering a strong plus
  • Proficiency with engineering and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD); lift planning tools (3D Lift Plan, LICCON, or similar) a plus
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, ASME B30, and relevant industry standards
  • Detail-oriented with a safety-first mindset and the ability to perform under tight project timelines

Why Beyel Brothers:

  • Work on high-profile, technically challenging projects across the Southeast and beyond
  • Join a company ranked among America's top crane and rigging firms
  • A collaborative, family-owned culture where engineering directly shapes how the work gets done
