Role Description

The Joiner will carry out a range of joinery and carpentry tasks across the estate on a full-time, on-site basis in Aberdeenshire. Day-to-day responsibilities include constructing, repairing, and maintaining estate buildings, fixtures, and fittings, such as doors, windows, floors, roofs, and internal joinery. The role involves working from drawings and specifications, measuring and cutting materials, installing new structures, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. The Joiner will collaborate with other trades and estate staff, respond to maintenance requests, and support ongoing improvement projects across residential, agricultural, and commercial properties. The position requires practical, hands-on work in varying weather conditions and locations across the estate.

Qualifications

• Strong joinery and carpentry skills, including experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of timber structures and fixtures.
• Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely, with good knowledge of materials, fittings, and construction methods.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings, plans, and specifications, with accurate measuring and cutting skills.
• Understanding of relevant building regulations, health and safety practices, and safe site working procedures.
• Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in joinery/carpentry, or equivalent proven experience.
• Good problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a small, multi-disciplinary team.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel across the estate; experience in rural or estate maintenance environments is an advantage.
