Chief Accountant

We are a trusted recruitment partner connecting experienced finance professionals with leading organizations across the region. On behalf of a reputable company operating within a diversified group structure, we are seeking a Chief Accountant to join their team on a full-time remote basis.

About the Role

As a Chief Accountant, you will oversee the company’s core accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. You will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, managing reporting cycles, and supporting strategic financial decisions.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and results-driven finance professional with strong leadership capabilities and solid experience in regional accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger operations, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting functions.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and financial reporting accuracy.
• Implement and improve accounting policies and internal control procedures.
• Support financial analysis and provide insights to senior management.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping in line with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications \& Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7\+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership exposure.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax regulations within the MENA region.
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
• Professional certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
