Job Summary
The Manager, Data \& Analytics will lead the development of enterprise reporting capabilities, ensuring Stratus leadership has clear, accurate insight into project performance, revenue, percent complete, utilization, forecasting, and operational health. This role oversees the design and delivery of dashboards built from the Stratus data lake and key platforms (Deltek, CRM, ADP, Autodesk, etc.) while guiding analysts, establishing standards, and enforcing data governance practices.
This leader will work cross-functionally across Finance, Accounting, HR, Project Management, IT, and Market Leadership to ensure reporting is consistent, trusted, and aligned with our One Stratus strategy, particularly as acquired companies integrate into our ecosystem.
Primary Essential Functions
Leadership \& Strategy
- Lead the enterprise reporting roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities, M\&A integration needs, and the Stratus growth strategy.
- Deliver high-quality dashboards, consistent KPIs, and scalable data models.
- Drive the adoption of standardized reporting across markets and legacy entities, ensuring consistency as the organization expands.
- Partner IT to enhance data lake structures, semantic layers, and data pipelines supporting analytics.
Enterprise Reporting \& Dashboard Development
- Oversee the creation of dashboards and reporting suites for project performance, financial management, percent complete, billing, utilization, staffing forecasts, backlog, and operational KPIs.
- Ensure dashboards are accurate, intuitive, and meaningful for executives, PMs, market leaders, and functional teams.
- Translate business requirements into detailed reporting specifications and technical designs.
- Maintain and evolve the enterprise KPI catalog and reporting logic in alignment with data governance standards.
Data Governance \& Quality
- Establish quality checks, validation protocols, and metadata standards to improve data reliability and user trust.
- Collaborate with functional leaders to ensure consistent definitions of KPIs across Finance, HR, Operations, and PM functions.
- Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, or upstream issues and drive cross-functional solutions.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership by providing insights that drive forecasting, resourcing, project profitability, and operational decision-making.
- Work with Finance, Accounting, and PMs to streamline reporting processes previously reliant on manual spreadsheets.
- Support M\&A integration by designing reporting frameworks that scale as new companies onboard to Stratus systems.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
Knowledge
- Must have extensive proven development experience with Fabric, Power BI, and Data Factory.
- Enterprise BI strategy, data architecture, and scalable reporting frameworks (data lakes, semantic models, governance).
- Advanced understanding of SQL, data modeling, KPI standardization, and analytics best practices.
- Deep knowledge of project accounting, financial reporting, and operational metrics used in AEC revenue, percent complete, WIP, utilization, backlog).
- Strong understanding of ERP, HRIS, CRM, and project-management systems—especially Deltek—in a multi-entity or M\&A environment.
Skills
- Leading the design and delivery of enterprise dashboards and reporting suites for executives and operational leaders.
- Managing and mentoring analysts, prioritizing workloads, and establishing repeatable reporting processes.
- Driving stakeholder alignment, gathering requirements, and translating them into scalable analytics solutions.
- Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and quality through oversight of modeling, validation, and governance practices.
Abilities
- Build and maintain a unified reporting strategy that scales across acquisitions and supports One Stratus integration.
- Anticipate business needs and proactively design reporting to improve project performance, forecasting, and decision-making.
- Balance strategic planning with hands-on analytics work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Influence cross-functional leaders and drive adoption of standardized KPIs, dashboards, and reporting workflows.
Required
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- Associates and Certifications will also be considered with
- 5–8\+ years of experience in analytics, BI, data modeling, or enterprise reporting; at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead capacity.
- Advanced proficiency with BI \& Azure tools including Azure Fabric, Power BI and Data Factory.
- Strong SQL capabilities and experience working with data lakes, warehouses, and cloud data structures.
- Demonstrated experience with project accounting metrics (percent complete, WIP, backlog, billing, utilization, revenue reporting).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to simplify complex data for executives.
Preferred
- Experience in the AEC industry or other project-driven professional services environments.
- Experience with Deltek Vision/VantagePoint or similar ERP systems.
- Experience supporting analytics in M\&A or multi-entity environments.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and KPI standardization work.
