Hays has partnered with a contractor who has been in business for nearly four decades in the Greater Toronto area, completing numerous ICI construction projects. They specialize predominately in office space, retail and airport projects. Your new role
The General Superintendent will lead our client's site teams across multiple active ICI projects across the Greater Toronto Area. They will be responsible for managing and developing Site Supervisors, driving consistency and ensuring project success, along with financial performance, quality and safety. They must be able to build/implement systems, develop strengths within the teams and standardize all QA / QC expectations across projects. They will review schedules and make regular site visits, approve site hours and monitor labour performance. Furthermore, they will enforce company safety standards and COR compliance and mentor, coach and lead all site parties. They will report on key data and risks to the Director of Construction.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful General Superintendent will have leadership experience and 10 years as a senior site individual. They must have a background working on ICI projects, both interior renovations and base builds. Project types include, retail, commercial interiors, airport, commercial etc. They will have a strong understanding of Ontario safety regulations and COR programs, along with a deep knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling and site operations. Finally, they will be an excellent communicator with the ability to lead a team, work with internal and external stakeholders, and be confident with clientele.
