Job Description
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom instruction in core subjects using Multiple Intelligences to cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
- Maintain a productive and engaging classroom through effective classroom management strategies that encourage critical thinking, independent discovery, and a positive learning environment.
- Facilitate extracurricular activities in collaboration with the Self-Awareness/Humanity Teacher to promote student growth beyond academics.
- Utilize the STAT (Student-tailored Tool for Advising and Teaching) framework to manage instructional practices and provide individualized student support.
- Maintain regular attendance in accordance with the Employee Handbook and school regulations.
- Complete all required record keeping tasks, including grade logging, attendance, instructional practices, and updating student learning profile (SLP) data, in compliance with school policies.
- Participate in the school’s Professional Learning Community (PLC) as outlined in the Employee Handbook to collaborate and enhance instructional practices.
- Attend and actively participate in school field trips and activities, supporting student learning outside the classroom.
- Provide and engage in peer mentoring sessions with colleagues, contributing to the professional growth and development of the teaching staff.
- Act as a mentor to designated students, fostering positive relationships and providing academic and social guidance.
- Facilitate required parent conferences for each student, maintaining strong communication with families as mandated by the Employee Handbook and school policies.
- Participate in the development and execution of a professional self-growth plan in collaboration with administration as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Prepare and submit detailed substitute teacher plans in advance of planned absences, and provide clear instructions for unplanned absences.
- Track and analyze academic and social-emotional data for each student through their Student Learning Profile (SLP) and make adjustments as indicated by school assessments and student progress.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by administrators to meet the evolving needs of the students and the school.
Qualifications
- Professional certification in 5-9 subject areas.
- Proven experience in classroom instruction, preferably using Multiple Intelligences or differentiated instruction methods.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to promote critical thinking and student independence.
- Experience with student support systems such as STAT and maintaining student records.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and students to foster a supportive school community.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and student-centered learning.
Benefits
- Competitive salary range for full-time positions is $45,000 - $60,000\.
- Competitive salary range for part-time positions is $23,000 - $30,000\.
