Job Description
**Database Administrator
Location: Washington DC
Work authorization: US citizen**
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support enterprise Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other approved database platforms, including operations, security, performance, backup, recovery, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, patch, upgrade, and maintain SQL Server and Oracle databases.
- Support database migrations, installations, configuration, and change management.
- Manage database security, access controls, encryption, auditing, and vulnerability remediation.
- Monitor and tune database performance, storage, queries, indexes, and capacity.
- Implement backup, recovery, disaster recovery, clustering, replication, and failover solutions.
- Produce health, performance, capacity, backup, incident, and compliance reports.
- Maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and configuration baselines.
Required Skills
- 10 years of enterprise database administration experience.
- Strong experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle database environments.
- Experience with backup/recovery, disaster recovery, performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of database security hardening, compliance, and hybrid/cloud-integrated database environments.
- Strong documentation, reporting, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft SQL Server / Azure Database certifications,
- Oracle Certified Professional,
- CompTIA Security\+, or ITIL Foundation.
