About the Role

This is a hands-on position that bridges AV installation, field service, and systems engineering. It is not strictly an engineering desk job, nor is it limited to pulling cable and mounting equipment.

Depending on experience, responsibilities may include:

• Installing displays, projectors, loudspeakers, microphones, equipment racks, cameras, and related AV equipment
• Pulling, terminating, labeling, and testing AV and network cabling
• Reading drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment schedules
• Configuring and troubleshooting audio, video, control, and networked AV systems
• Assisting with system commissioning, DSP configuration, and system tuning
• Diagnosing service issues in both new and existing systems
• Documenting completed work, field changes, test results, and punch-list items
• Communicating with project managers, customers, contractors, and other team members
• Training customers on basic system operation
• Traveling to customer sites, including occasional overnight travel

We recognize that the person who can do every part of this role is somewhat uncommon. We are open to experienced AV professionals, field installers ready to develop stronger technical skills, and candidates from related electrical, electronics, networking, broadcast, or IT backgrounds.

What We Are Looking For

• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work safely with hand and power tools
• Basic understanding of AV signal flow, cabling, and system installation
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to solving problems
• Practical understanding of IP networking or a willingness to develop it
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow installation plans
• Clear communication, organization, reliability, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to the project team
• Ability to work from ladders and aerial lifts as required
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel

Experience with the following is beneficial, but we do not expect every applicant to bring all of it:

• Q-SYS
• Dante and AES67
• Ubiquiti or Juniper networking
• Managed switches, VLANs, PoE, multicast, IGMP, and QoS
• DSP configuration and audio system tuning
• NDI or other video-over-IP platforms
• Wireless microphones, conferencing systems, control systems, and commercial AV equipment
• AVIXA CTS or manufacturer training

Candidates should be willing to complete applicable Dante and Q-SYS training as they develop in the position.

This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys building systems, solving field problems, learning new technologies, and seeing a project through from installation to final operation.
