Senior Revenue Accountant

Location:

Burlington, MA (2-3 days a week in office/hybrid)

Role will be primarily focused on Revenue Recognition/ASC606 (75%) and then otherwise will support SEC reporting/10-Q, 10-K, \& technical accounting. Handle variance analysis, journal entries \& reconciliations with month \& year-end closing. Opportunity for growth here is strong and get involved in more things as they grow.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead key components of the monthly and quarterly revenue close, including preparation and review of revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
  • Support external financial reporting requirements, including revenue disclosures for SEC filings such as Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
  • Maintain and support internal controls over revenue recognition and financial reporting in compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Perform detailed revenue trend and backlog analyses to support forecasting, identify risks and opportunities, and provide insights to Finance leadership.
  • Contribute to the development, documentation, and refinement of revenue accounting policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a primary resource for external auditors on revenue-related questions and audit support.
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, and FP\&A to review customer contracts and assess revenue accounting implications.
  • Participate in system enhancements and automation initiatives to improve revenue processes and reporting efficiency.

What They’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience with a focus on revenue recognition and SEC reporting
  • Ideally, experience in public accounting and/or a tech company (SaaS or cybersecurity a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, and SOX compliance
