Job Description

Essential Duties \& Responsibilities

Lead multiple Scrum teams with Agile methodologies in sprint or Kanban environmentsOwn and facilitate all Scrum meetings such as the daily stand-up, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demo, and retrospectiveCoach the organization to adhere to Scrum practices and focus strictly on delivering real value for real usersProvide support within planning and reporting tools such as JiraHelp teams achieve higher levels of Scrum maturity and self-organization capabilityHelp build an environment of accountability where team members feel a true ownership of the productSupport the Product Owners with backlog management, scope management, handling stakeholder requests, and defining prioritiesBuild and maintain reports for velocity, burndown, project planning, and capacity in order to provide ongoing insights and recommendations to the teamConduct other activities such as story point estimation, adjusting roadmaps, supporting quarterly planning, and facilitating cross-functional collaborationAccelerate teams by resolving conflicts, removing impediments, and reducing context switchingCurate a team culture that encourages commitment, focus, openness, respect, and courage, while upholding the pillars of transparency, inspection, and adaptation

Education \& Experience

Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fieldScrum Master certification5\+ year’s experience in a Scrum Master or Product Owner role in a software development environmentExperience with JiraExperience coaching teams new to Agile and Scrum

Knowledge, Skills \& Abilities

Excellent communication, active listening, and servant leadership skillsExcellent knowledge of Scrum elements and artifacts (user stories, sprints, kanban boards, backlog refinement, scope, velocity, definition of done, and more)Ability to analyze and think quickly to resolve conflictsAbility to work with and lead a teamOutstanding organizational skillsAbility to be highly flexible and adaptable within a rapidly changing environmentAbility to coach, understand, and empathize with team members while putting people firstAbility to lead agile transformation efforts while leaving space for team culture, norms, and values
