Position Overview/Duties

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) announcement for multiple Electrical Engineers in the South Atlantic Division, Savannah District, Construction Division.

Duties \& Responsibilities

Serves as electrical engineer in a construction field office. The incumbent is in charge of all phases of electrical installations, inspection testing, and partial contract administration of all systems and construction operations. Provides expertise and serves as technical advisor on electrical engineering problems arising during construction. Contracted items typically include substations, overhead and underground distribution systems, building power and lighting controls, fire alarms and electrical systems with related mechanical systems found in administrative buildings, shops, storage facilities, tactical equipment shops and other typical structures, as well as energy conservation projects. Assignments involve multistory buildings, large energy plants, state-of-the-art solar systems, hospital, and/or other large and comparably complex electrical systems for which job is technically responsible/authoritative.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Minimum Education Requirement

Engineering:

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering. The program must: lead to a degree in a school with at least one program accredited by ABET. Degree must be documented on a transcript.

Specialized Experience

Serve as the technical expert on complex electrical systems, resolving critical design conflicts when required; lead the review and approval of electrical submittals, ensuring compliance and maximizing energy efficiency for critical USACE missions.

  • PCS expenses may be authorized (subject to available budget) if the selecting official determines the relocation is in the best interests of the government.
  • This position requires that the incumbent possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or its possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position may be eligible for situational telework.
