Role: Vice President of Engineering

Location: Remote

Salary Range: $225,000 - $275,000 \+ Bonus structure

Renewyx is representing a high-performing Independent Power Producer that is at the forefront of the energy transition, focusing on a diverse portfolio of Distributed Generation and utility-scale solar and BESS. As a long-term owner and operator of clean energy assets, this organization combines a lean, agile culture with the technical rigor and financial stability of a major player in the renewable energy market. They are seeking a VP of Engineering to join their executive leadership team in a fully remote capacity. In this high-impact role, you will take full ownership of the engineering department, leading a multidisciplinary team to ensure the technical integrity and performance of a national fleet of solar and storage projects. You will be responsible for setting the technical standard for the organization, managing relationships with key stakeholders and outside agencies, and overseeing the successful execution of complex engineering workflows from initial design through to long-term operation.

The ideal candidate should have the following

  • 10\+ years of comprehensive electrical engineering experience with at least 5 years dedicated to the DG or utility-scale solar sector
  • An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering from any US jurisdiction
  • A mastery of industry-standard software tools including AutoCAD and Pvsyst for system design and performance modeling
  • Advanced technical proficiency in PvCase and ETAP for specialized engineering analysis and layout optimization
  • Extensive experience in conducting and reviewing ArcFlash studies to ensure the highest levels of site safety and electrical compliance
  • The proven ability to lead and inspire multidisciplinary engineering teams through complex project lifecycles
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the confidence to represent the firm before outside agencies and vendors
  • A strong track record of managing the technical due diligence and engineering review process for solar and BESS assets
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with the ability to translate complex technical data into actionable business strategies
