Job Description
We're looking for a sharp, motivated individual to help build and scale Hormbles Chormbles' strategic retail presence across independent and specialty channels. This is a ground-floor opportunity to architect the playbook for how we win in strategic retail while also opening doors yourself. You'll identify target accounts, pitch buyers, support new doors across boutique health stores, premium convenience, specialty grocers, and curated retailers across the US, and translate what you learn in the field into a repeatable growth model. You'll spend meaningful time on the road, build relationships with store buyers and staff, and work directly with the founding team to shape how Hormbles Chormbles scales from a few hundred doors to thousands.
Core Responsibilities
- Build the strategic retail playbook from the ground up: account targeting framework, pitch materials, sample programs, follow-up cadences, and the operating model for how we scale doors efficiently
- Identify and open new independent and specialty retail accounts across target channels: boutique health stores, premium convenience, specialty grocers, and wellness-forward concept retailers
- Manage and grow distributor relationships across regional and national partners, serving as the day-to-day point of contact to ensure proper account coverage, promotional execution, and sell-through support
- Own accounts through the full cycle from initial outreach through pitch, first order, and reorder
- Develop staff education materials and reorder support systems to maximize velocity at each location
- Collaborate with marketing on local activation opportunities, in-store events, and account-level social content
Practicalities
- 1-3 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or B2B sales, ideally with exposure to CPG, retail, or consumer
- Strong analytical and structured-thinking skills: you can take an ambiguous problem ("how do we win in specialty retail?") and turn it into a plan, then execute against it
- A true hunter mentality: you're energized by prospecting, rejection doesn't slow you down, and you know how to create urgency
- Highly organized and self-directed - you can build and manage your own pipeline and your own workstreams without hand-holding
- Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with strong presentation skills
- Willingness to travel and spend real time in stores - this role isn't behind a desk
Compensation:
$110K-$140K
